Procedure:
All auditions must be submitted as digital video recordings. You may send them on a DVD or other media, post them on a video sharing service such as YouTube, or share them with a file sharing service such as DropBox. If you post the video on YouTube it is strongly recommended that you post it as an “unlisted” video and then forward the link.

Your audition may be submitted as three separate videos, or as one video with the three required parts edited together. Each section (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3) should be a continuous, unedited video.

Part 1: Scales:
This video should be unedited and be less than 3 minutes in duration.
1. Play the chromatic scale over your comfortable range. We are listening for facility and fluidity, not how high can you play.
2. Play the 12 major scales. You may play one octave or multiple octaves, depending on your comfortable range.

Part 2: Prepared Piece:
This video should be unedited and contain your performance of the prepared piece played from beginning to end. Click links below to download the prepared piece for your instrument:

Trumpet 2/3
Trombone 1

Part 3: Improvisation:
This is required for Trombone 1 and Trumpet 2 auditions, but optional for the trumpet 3 auditions. You will need a stereo system to play the track so both you and the track can be heard on the video. Please contact us if you have any difficulty with this part of the video.
1. Click here to download the “F Funk” play along track.
2. Play and record 2-3 choruses. You do not need to play the entire track.
