Sousaphone Mario Kart Tournament and Fundraiser!

We’ve survived Band Camp! It was an marathon couple of weeks, but after 90 hours of rehearsal, several gigs, and a couple games of Buck Buck, we’re ready for the season!

To kick the 2014 season off right, we’re very excited to announce our next event: our 1st Mario Kart Tournament! Members in the section will be competing over the next two weeks to see who can truly be known as the Mario Kart Champion! You, as our fans and friends, are also invited to participate! Each day, a game’s results will be posted. If you can correctly pick the winners, you will win a free 2014-15 OMB Sousa Calendar!
http://www.lulu.com/shop/omb-sousaphone-section-2014-2015-calendar/calendar/product-21738483.html#

As much as the Sousas love Mario Kart and hanging out, we wanted to make this a very special event. We decided that all calendar proceeds made during the duration of our tournament will be donated to the Eric Humphrey Memorial Fund. So please, if you want to help a wonderful cause and be a part of something great, help us to raise money for this special fund. More details about Eric can be found athttp://omb.uoregon.edu/erichumphrey/#.VCg_ffldVS2

So let’s get this started! Our first match up will be between #8 Elliot and #9 Thomas! Whoever can get the most points in four races moves on to the next round to face #1 Derek! Comment on your pick, and you’ll be in the running for a free calendar! If you want to see the bracket in its entirety, here you go  http://bracketsninja.com/brackets/single/1509

Welcome to OMB.UOREGON.EDU

Welcome to the redesign of OMB.UOREGON.EDU!!

We were long overdue for a new look. Of 250 students in the Oregon Marching Band, we had a handful of CIS majors and recreational programmers who helped make the dynamic site we wanted! Special thanks to Jacob Mehringer, Jasper Walton, and Jeff Bayes for their help.

On this blog page we will not only have news updates but also blog entries from band members with personal accounts of life in the Oregon Athletic Bands!
